It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you all for the Asia Oceanic and National users group Intra operative neuro monitoring meeting being held at Grand Sheraton in the costal heritage town, Mamallapuram.Being a growing society, we are making every effort to make the meeting more vibrant and interactive. The delegates will have the opportunity to interact with international faculty of ISIN society who are pioneers in this field. We are planning a live surgery workshop and hands on workshop to conceptualize the various modalities of Intra operative neuro monitoring. We are also in the process of forming a society for intra operative neuro monitoring during this meeting. The venue is close to sea shore and the heritage monuments of Mamallapuram which could be a visual treat to the delegates and I take this opportunity to welcome your family also to have a visit to the monuments in the leisure time and enjoy our hospitality.

Intraoperative Neuromonitoring started in India about two decades ago and its use has doubled in the last four years. Indeed involvement of Neurosurgeons, Spinal surgeons, ENT surgeons, Anaesthetists, Neurologists and Neurophysiologists in Intra-operative neuromonitoring together with an excellent breed of technicians had made it possible to form an India IONM Group some years ago after the meeting in Kolkata. We are all in a learning curve, but the ability to exchange information within the group has made life a lot easier for those beginning the IONM journey.
This year we have the good fortune to host the meeting of the Asia Oceania Society of Intraoperative Neurophysiology, and we chose Chennai as this is where we were scheduled to meet in 2019 when the pandemic ruined all the plans. The meeting is scheduled for October 15^th and 16^th at the Grand Sheraton on the coast in the outskirts of Chennai. This will be preceded by a preconference workshop on the 14^th October.
Please do mark the dates in your calendar and be there. We will have a physical IONM meeting after a long time, and we need all to be there. Dr Roopesh Kumar as the Organizing Secretary has spared no efforts to make the scientific and social meeting a truly memorable one. We must see you there.
